FOUNDATION

KURD-KAV - Kurdish Culture and Research Foundation was established in 1992 with the initiative of 98 intellectuals, writers and politicians. After its establishment, it struggled legally for registration for 5 years. Our foundation was registered by the high court in 1996 and gained official status.

KURD-KAV, is the first registered institution with name includes "Kurdish" term after the establishment of the Republic of Turkey.

KURD-KAV IS NOT A POLITICAL INSTITUTION

KURD-KAV founded by kurdish intellectuals, and it is has title of being Turkey's first kurdish institution that was registered with the name of "Kurdish" by the high court. Although our foundation was founded by people who are mostly politicians, it does not have the characteristics of a political institution. The purpose of its establishment is to make scientific researches on Kurdish culture, art and literature, to have them made and to record them by making collections, to make them available to the public and to keep them alive. In addition, it is to serve the improvement and enrichment of living spaces by working on different areas of life.

Our foundation, which has been working in different fields since its establishment, has accomplished many activities. Although our foundation could not meet most of the needs of the Kurdish society, it did not hesitate to operate at the rate of its power. In different periods, especially in Istanbul, he organized Newroz celebrations, seminars and panels explaining the meaning and importance of important days for Kurds, commemoration days, and took part in organizing events such as symposiums and conferences alone or as a joint venture.

In the new period, with the suggestions of our founders and members, our management, which shows the determination and will to be active in different areas and to continue to carry out similar studies, is determined to continue.

The following principles are included in the purpose section of the foundation certificate of our foundation:

Article-3 To conduct research on fundamental rights and freedoms, to conduct research and analysis on Kurdish language, culture and history, to take action for the solution of health problems and the development of sports.

To open educational and training institutions at all levels such as pre-primary, primary, secondary, high and post-graduate.
To open scientific, cultural, artistic and educational courses.
To open institutes, research and development centers and similar organizations.
To operate as a radio and television business.
Giving education, research and development scholarships.
To provide opportunities for children and young people with talent in the fields of arts and sciences to receive education at home and abroad.
To support artists, scientists, researchers and people with similar qualifications.
To establish accommodation, entertainment, recreation, health and sports facilities, nursing homes, kindergartens, youth villages, shelters.
Making short and feature films, making and publishing audio and video tapes.
To collect, archive and open libraries written and to be written works.
To do research on scientific subjects and to have them done, to protect the emerging historical and cultural values and to open museums.
To carry out activities such as helping disaster victims who suffered from all kinds of natural disasters, social events and wars.
